MTS Air Rockets at LV Mini Maker Faire

MAKE Magazine has served as a beacon to Makers of all kinds, and their Maker Faires, large scale celebrations of the Maker movement, have brought new and innovative ideas to the public in a big way.

On April 26th, 2014 the Lehigh Valley hosted its first Mini Maker Faire, a celebration of our local Maker culture, at SteelStacks in Bethlehem. There were makers of all kinds displaying gadgets, inventions, and crafts for families to play with and explore. MTS joined the celebration with an innovative air rocket launcher and the MTS Rocket Park.

Inspired by launchers highlighted in MAKE Magazine, the folks at MTS used their industrial design expertise and Maker spirit to create a safe, accessible, and easy to assemble launcher. MTS invited families to create paper rockets to launch in the rocket park area of the faire.

Kids and adults alike joined in the fun to create their own rockets. Each rocketeer spent 15-20 minutes coloring, cutting, folding, fastening, and crafting their own perfect paper rocket from a simple template provided by MTS.

Parents and educators alike took interest in the project, which encourages people of all ages to experiment with the design of their rocket without being concerned about the price of a failed launch. After all, the rockets are made of paper, and the launcher is filled with free air. This project is ideal for scouts, children who are home schooled or attend a cyber charter, even picnics and parties.

We think our air rocket launchers will inspire the next generation of Makers as we were inspired by the projects of our youth. Become a part of the MTS Air Rockets community – get on our mailing list, learn how to host your own rocket launch event, or preorder a launcher at ultimateairrockets.com.
